These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Atlas mobile applications, APIs, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or continuing to use the Service you agree to these Terms.
1. Service Overview
Atlas combines accountability features from Phase One with Phase Two personalization capabilities. The Service allows you to:
- Create goals with schedules, evidence requirements, and optional monetary penalties.
- Submit text, photo, audio, and video evidence that our AI verifies using OpenAI models before marking a goal complete.
- Complete the personality and preferences quiz, select interest areas, and receive personalized suggestion bundles and overlay activities ranked for fit.
- Provide feedback on suggestion cards to help adapt future recommendations and maintain your personalization profile.
- Receive reminders, deadline notifications, and re-engagement nudges delivered via Expo push notifications.
2. Eligibility & Account Responsibilities
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction you confirm you have obtained parental or guardian consent.
- You agree to provide accurate registration information and promptly update it if it changes.
- You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and any device where your Supabase session is stored. Notify us immediately of unauthorized use.
3. User Content & Permissions
- You retain ownership of content you submit (e.g., evidence uploads, quiz responses, feedback, goals). You grant us and our processors a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, reproduce, and analyze that content as needed to operate and improve the Service, including AI-based verification and personalization.
- You represent that you have the rights and permissions for all content you upload, including the ability to share images, audio, video, and any third-party contact details used for penalties.
- You must not upload unlawful, harmful, infringing, or deceptive content, nor attempt to bypass verification or personalization safeguards.
4. Device Permissions & Platform Requirements
- The app may request camera and photo library access on iOS, and camera plus notification permissions on Android, to support media uploads and timely reminders.
- Denying permissions may limit core features. You can change permissions at any time in your device settings; continued use after revoking permissions indicates acceptance that certain functionality will be unavailable.
5. Payments & Penalties
- Configurable monetary penalties are processed by Stripe using tokenized payment methods. You authorize us to initiate charges when goals marked with penalties are missed according to your configuration.
- You are responsible for maintaining accurate payment information and ensuring sufficient funds. Failed transactions may suspend penalty enforcement until resolved.
- Penalty disputes must be raised within 14 days of the charge; we may review verification evidence and Supabase records to resolve the issue.
6. Analytics, Feedback & Improvements
- Unless you opt out, we collect analytics through PostHog to understand feature usage, measure personalization impact, and improve stability.
- Feedback you submit—whether via in-app forms or suggestion interactions—may be used to refine recommendation weights, content quality, and onboarding flows.
- We may contact you about product updates, policy changes, or critical issues affecting your account.
7. Third-Party Services & Integrations
- The Service relies on Supabase for authentication and data storage, Stripe for payments, OpenAI for AI verification, PostHog for analytics, and Expo for notifications. Each provider processes data according to its own terms and privacy policies.
- We are not responsible for outages or issues caused by third-party providers but will work to minimize disruption and provide fallback experiences where feasible.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service.
- Use bots or automated scripts to interact with the Service except through documented APIs.
- Interfere with or disrupt servers, networks, or personalization ranking systems.
- Attempt to manipulate penalty triggers or analytics reporting through fraudulent submissions.
9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
- The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. AI-based verification and personalization may not always be accurate, and you should exercise judgment when acting on recommendations.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, Atlas and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service.
- Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amounts you have paid to us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
10. Termination
- You may terminate your account at any time through in-app settings; termination triggers account deletion workflows described in our Privacy Policy.
- We may suspend or terminate your access for violating these Terms, engaging in fraudulent activity, or creating security risks. Where feasible we will provide notice of the reason and effective date.
11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
- These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
- Any disputes arising from the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts located in Queensland, Australia. We encourage users to contact us first to resolve concerns informally.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect product changes, regulatory requirements, or operational needs. Material changes will be communicated through the app or email, and continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
